Congratulations to Monticello Trails Middle School counselor, Cara Olson, for being recognized with the 2025 Sunflower House Education Partner of the Year Award.  Cara was surprised with this news from Sunflower House during a MTMS all school assembly on March 14. She was formally recognized with this honor at the Sunflower House Partner Agency Luncheon at the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center on Wednesday, March 26.

Consideration for the award is based on those that work tirelessly to keep children in our community safe and champion their voice. Cara not only meets these criteria, but has gone above and beyond to support the strength and courage of children and caregivers. Her dedication to the children in our community is outstanding and is deserving of this award.

Also recognized at the Partner Appreciation Luncheon was Detective David Breiner from the Olathe Police Department for being chosen as their Child Advocate of the Year.
